Adoptions are generally done in one of 2 ways. <\/strong>

1. The foster adopts directly to the adopter <\/strong>-meets in home or public space and handles paperwork and payments.
Note: The foster will be in charge of approving the adopter in this situation

2. The cat is moved into Humane Pet Services (or other adoption event) and is adopted from there.<\/strong> 
 Note: The screening is done by the volunteers or employees at Humane Pet Services or running the adoption event. 

Paperwork is the same either way.

The Process<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

When a cat is done vetting and ready to be adopted, it becomes time to create the adoption paperwork and list the animal(s) online. The foster is responsible for this, but feel free to ask your mentor for help!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

To indicate your cat is ready for adoption and you would like it listed online and\/or be put on the waitlist to go to Humane Pet Services, please use the app listed below. This is a custom app we share with Humane Pet Services to track where our cats are at. We also use it for posting online.  **NOTE: This link will give the option to install the app. This create a shortcut for easy access from a mobile phone.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Here, you will list the cat's basic information, along with photos and a bio. Bios are your best description of the cat, their likes and dislikes, and wht type of home would be best for them The more detailed the better, as that gets them adopted faster  <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Once you cat is listed online, if we get any inquires into the cat, you will be sent the application or inquiry. You are responsible for reaching out to the potential adopter to answer any of their questions and get a feeling as to whether they would be suitable or not. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

If you feel they might be a good fit, you can arrange a meeting. Some fosters choose to do them in their own homes so the cats show better, but some do so in public spaces (specifically Humane Pet Services). You are always welcome to ask your mentor or other foster to be there to assist. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Adoption Application<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Solas Rescue does have an Adoption Application. It not REQUIRED to use this but can be a good screening tool if you are not sure about an adopter.
This form can be printed and handed to the person or they can do it online by going to the link below (also linked on main website) <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

If you feel the person or family is not suitable, you are ALWAYS able to say no. Depending on the situation, it be a simple explination, but if it gets nasty, your out is always to say \"I'll take it to my supervisor\" and someone from the board will be the bad guy (gal).<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n
